Opuscula Muslim ”problem”? Send them to camp

The soon-to-be ex-president promised to allow thousands of Muslim “refugees” into the country once they were “fully vetted.”

The vetting would, initially at least, be done by contractors, not US. agencies. Several European countries have opened their doors to Muslim “refugees” sans restrictions and have paid the price.

Allowing refugees into the country is the “humane” thing to do after all; the only refugees ever denied entry were Jews escaping the nazis, most famously on the SS Saint Louis.

Unlike Muslims who may have allegiance to one of the many Muslim terrorists organizations, the Jews fleeing the nazis had no loyalties to any group threatening America and Americans. On board the SS St. Louis were less than 1000 passengers – a small percentage of the Muslim refugees the out-going president planned to admit. At the time, the U.S. had a great deal of “vacant” land on which the Jews could have been interned and a Jewish population willing to finance their welfare.

THE PRESIDENT WHO denied Jews entry into the U.S. — and sent many to their death at the nazi’s bloody hands — was a Democrat: Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

The name of FDR’s — and the soon-to-be former president's — party is NOT “Democratic” but “Democrat.” The media gets it wrong more than it gets it correct.

FDR was, if not the first, one of the first to rule by polls. He made no move that might prove unpopular with his congressional allies.

While FDR sent hundreds of innocent Jews to their deaths, he also sent thousands of Japanese-Americans to internment camps. Many of the Japanese were second generation Americans, wholly loyal to the U.S.

The 442nd Regimental Combat Team (RCT) was organized on March 23, 1943, after more than a year during which Americans of Japanese descent were declared enemy aliens, 4-C, by the U.S. War Department. It had taken all that time plus several key events to convince the Roosevelt Administration that these men should be allowed to enter combat for their country. Eventually, the 442nd, bolstered by the combat-hardened 100th Infantry Battalion, comprised of Japanese American draftees from Hawaii, became the most decorated unit in U.S. military history for its size and length of service. The Japanese-American soldiers served in Europe; 21 were awarded the Medal of Honor.

FDR also set up internment camps for selected Germans. The legal basis for internment was under Presidential Proclamation 2526, made by FDR under the authority of the Alien and Sedition Acts.

During WWII, the United States detained at least 11,000 ethnic Germans, overwhelmingly German nationals. The government examined the cases of German nationals individually, and detained relatively few in internment camps run by the Department of Justice, as related to its responsibilities under the Alien and Sedition Acts. To a much lesser extent, some ethnic German US citizens were classified as suspect after due process and also detained. Similarly, a small proportion of Italian nationals and Italian Americans were interned in relation to their total population in the US. The United States had allowed immigrants from both Germany and Italy to become naturalized citizens, which many had done by then.

Some German nationals also had been interned during WW1.

Nothing, of course, compares to what several generations of politicians and military “heroes” did to the Indians (a/k/a “Native Americans*”) — driving them, sometimes thousands of miles — into internment camps called “reservations.”

DONALD TRUMP WANTS TO STOP Muslims from entering the United States.

People of all stripes are shocked.

How can anyone, how dare anyone, even suggest banning an entire people from entering the country based on religion?

It's been done before.

Back in 1939, a ship, the St. Louis ¹ carrying more than 900 Jews ² escaping nazi Germany attempted to land at its first destination, Cuba; when the Jews arrived with Cuban visas, they found the Cuban government, under Batista, had reneged and refused the Jews' entry. The ship's captain, Gustav Schroeder, pointed the ship north and sailed along the U.S. east coast, appealing to the U.S. to allow his passengers entry.

Influenced by the economic hardships of the Depression, ³ which exacerbated popular antisemitism^sic, isolationism, and xenophobia, the refugee policy of the US State Department and its stringent (and questionably legal) application of the 1924 Immigration Law made it difficult for refugees to obtain entry visas, despite the ongoing persecution of Jews in Germany.

Although several other European countries permitted limited Jewish immigration (for example Britain, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands) before 1938, many of these refugees disappeared as Nazi Germany conquered Europe. Latin America had also been a potential destination for refugees, although after 1938 these nations increasingly refused to admit further immigrants. A significant exception was Bolivia, which admitted around 30,000 from 1938-1941.

Beginning in 1940, the United States further restricted immigration by ordering US consuls to delay visa approvals on national security grounds. After the United States entered the World War II in December 1941, the trickle of immigration virtually dried up, just as the Nazi regime began systematically to murder the Jews of Europe. Despite many obstacles, however, more than 200,000 Jews found refuge in the United States from 1933 to 1945, most of them before the end of 1941.

In June 1939,⁴ then-president Franklin Roosevelt decided to refuse political asylum to more than 900 passengers aboard the German ocean liner St. Louis. The passengers, nearly all of them Jewish refugees, had the lights of Miami in sight when the United States government refused them permission to disembark. Roosevelt did not respond to pleas for help. The ship returned to Europe, and the Holocaust claimed more than a third of those who returned to the Continent.

Efforts by some Americans⁵ to rescue children failed: the Wagner-Rogers bill, an effort to admit 20,000 endangered Jewish refugee children, was not supported by the Senate in 1939 and 1940. Widespread racial prejudices among Americans—including antisemitic ^sic attitudes held by the US State Department officials—played a part in the failure to admit more refugees.

At the time, the total population of the U.S. was 132.2; in 2010, the last census, the U.S. population stood at 308.7 million.

The Census omits questions that identify the population by religion.

The Jewish population, as recorded by Jewish sources ⁶ in 1940 was estimated between 4,770,000-4,975,000; the estimated Jewish population in 2011 was 6,588,065.

Jews And Syrians: Counting Bodies

It was estimated that the nazis and their followers murdered some 12 million people over 6 years. That figure has now jumped to an estimated 15 to 20 million ⁷ of which at least 5 to 6 million were Jews. (Others murdered by the nazis and those like them included mentally and physically handicapped, Communists, and Roma (gypsies), among others.)

This does not include Jews murdered ⁸ in Muslim countries that aligned with the nazi's effort to exterminate the Jews.

By comparison, as of September 2015, "more than 200,000 people have been killed in the four and a half year Syrian civil" ⁸

Roosevelt and Congress turned their backs on the Jews - even children - while Obama wants to welcome 10,000 Syrian Muslims.

Jews, as a people, never have attacked the United States.

Muslims have, on several occasions, the most successful from the Muslim point of view must be 9-11-2001.

Muslims are at war with each other ¹⁰: Shia, Sunni, Wahabi, and more variations on the theme. Admittedly, Jews also are religiously fragmented, but they are not known to war against each other with any weapons other than words.

The question becomes: Which Muslim sect will be allowed in? If more than one, what guarantee that (a) the refugees won't bring their intra-religion wars to the U.S. and (b) that they won't -as they have done in England, France, and elsewhere in Europe - set up sharia law wherever they settle (at the expense of U.S. and local laws)?

Another question: Who will sponsor the refugees?

A 2011 survey of Muslim Americans, ¹¹ which was conducted in English as well as Arabic, Farsi and Urdu, estimated that there were 1.8 million Muslim adults (and 2.75 million Muslims of all ages) in the country. That survey also found that a majority of U.S. Muslims (63%) are immigrants. Another survey ¹² estimates that between five to 12 million Muslims live in the United States. About one-third of them are African-Americans. Another third are originally from the Indian subcontinent, including Pakistan, India and Bangladesh. The last third include Arab immigrants, Latinos, other European and Caucasian Muslims, and converts to Islam. The first Muslims to come to the Americas were brought as slaves. The first mosque built in America was in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

President Obama claims that all Syrian refugees will be closely vetted and that will take some time, yet he seems prepared to welcome 10,000 or more Syrians in short order.

Opuscula Obama won't say "Muslim terrorists"

Wonder why?

 

WITH FRANCE STILL BURYING its dead after the second Muslim terrorist attack (the first coming in January 2015 when Muslim terrorists attacked the Charlie Hebdo satire magazine and a kosher market, killing 17 and wounding 22), the president of the United States denounced the shooting and bombing assaults in Paris on Friday that killed 129 people and a double suicide bombing in Ankara on October 10 that claimed 102 lives

The president noted that “The killing of innocent people based on a twisted ideology is an attack not just on France, not just on Turkey but it is an attack on the civilized world,” according to a Times of Israel wrap up of several wire reports.

But the president, with a fundamental Muslim grounding as a child, cannot bring himself to call the attackers what they are: Muslim terrorists.

The U.S. president also cannot bring himself to admit that the daily acts of terror on Israeli citizens of all ages also is perpetrated by Muslim terrorists.

But given his upbringing, it is not surprising that the continuing murder of a few Jews fails to generate any condemnation of the Muslim terrorists.

I will be the first to admit that not all Muslims are terrorists and while the media rarely notes when a "moderate Muslim is embarrassed by the acts of Muslim terrorists, it seems most Muslims either are ambivalent or silently support their murdering fellow Muslims.

Now the U.S. president is proposing to import refugees from Syria for humanitarian reasons.

Surely no one can fault him for that.

The problem is: Who can vet each immigrant during a mass immigration?

Will the refugees be delayed entry visas into the U.S. as are Israeli citizens? Will they be allowed free run of the country as the thousands of illegal aliens - sorry, undocumented immigrants enjoy? The U.S. Customs and Border Protection's Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) can't keep track of the intruders - invaders - we have now; how does the president expect ICE to monitor hundreds, perhaps thousands, of Syrians, some of whom will be Muslim terrorists, entering the country in the guise of refugees? Or did he even consider this?

Let the predominately Muslim countries absorb the refugees. According to Wikipedia, there are 43 countries with Muslim populations of 75% or greater, with another eight (8) with Muslim populations of 50% or greater. (Only Vatican City has 0% Muslim population.) The U.S. has approximately 2.6 million Muslims making up more than 0.8% of the population.

As an aside, when Jews were trying to escape certain death in Europe, the United States refused entry to hundreds, sending them to their deaths at the hands of the Germans and their allies.

Even discussing Daesh, a/k/a ISIL/ISIS, the president cannot call a terrorist a terrorist if the terrorist is a Muslim.

We will redouble our efforts working with other members of the coalition to bring about a peaceful transition in Syria and to eliminate Daesh as a force that can create so much pain and suffering for people in Paris and Ankara and other parts of the globe,” Obama said.

If Daesh is not a Muslim terrorist organization then neither are Hezbollah, Hamas, Boko Haram, or any of the other 50-plus organizations - primarily Muslim - on the U.S. State Department's Foreign Terrorist Organizations list.

But the president can't bring himself to say the words: Muslim terrorists.
